RHS XC MOB still undefeated in regular meets

The boys team had another win on another sunny afternoon against Eastlake this week. Only one regular meet left against our toughest competition in KingCo, Garfield, Skyline, Ballard next Wednesday 10/13 at Lincoln Park.
The boys will leave for Hole in the Wall near Marysville on Saturday morning 10/9 at 7:15 from RHS. Race times are below.

XC MOB is undefeated in regular season meets!

Today the MOB had meet at Hartman Park in Redmond. The sun was shining and the MOB came in 1st place against Redmond and Bothell. The top 7 were as follows:

Chili feed fundraiser

Why: Our motive is to get the parents of the XC-MOB together for a chance to meet, casual dinner, meet the coaches, raise some money for the team, and celebrate our children's success.

Directions to Tuesday's meet at Marymoor Park:
Take WA-520 East to Redmond
Take the W Lake Sammamish Pkwy NE
Turn left at NE Marymoor Way
Once in the park head towards the Velodrome bike race track. The start and finish is in this area.

Saturday's Invitational is at Lake Sammamish State Park. There is no bus for this meet so kids will need to arrange for their own transportation or talk to other team mates about carpooling. Here is the schedule for the boys that day.

Fort Steilacoom Invitation Results

The MOB had an excellent day in the sun with some time spent on the podium. The Varsity boys, JV 1 and JV 2 boys all placed 3rd overall! A personal best by Daniel Swanson at 16:26, 12th place overall. Course records were set by many in the team. Notable were Sam Carpenter with 1:50 and Sam Hendren with 1:14 off their previous years time.

Reminder that next weeks meet was changed from Wednesday to Tuesday Sept 21st. Otherwise same time and location.

Wednesday, Sept. 15th, we host Newport & Inglemoor at Lincoln Park. 2 races will be run, with the girls starting at 4 PM. and the boys running approximately 30 minutes after this.

We need volunteers to help monitor the course & work the finish line: So call Penny if you can help
If you can be there by 3:40, we can meet at the finish line to divide duties & give instructions. Thanks in advance for your help! All 3 schools have large teams so we'll be busy!

On Saturday is the first Invitation at Fort Steilacoom. Check out www.fortsteilacoominvite.com and you can see detail of the day, directions etc. It is a well run meet and my favorite Invite to watch, especially on a sunny fall day.

Coach has changed tomorrow and Saturday's practice locations.
Friday 9/3 practice will be held at 9:30 at the Roosevelt track.
Saturday 9/4 practice will be held at 9:30 at Lincoln Park. Kids will meet near the main entrance off Fauntleroy just east of the parking lot.

Official practice start

Sorry about the typo. Official practice start on Monday August 23rd. You must have 10 practices in order to compete at the KingCo preview meet on September 9th so get in your paperwork and be there or be slow.

Athletic Forms: Please make doctor appointments early! Physicals are good for 2 years. The other forms necessary for participation can be found on the RHS website

Change in location for practice next week

For those of you who weren't at this morning's practice, starting on the 19th the location will be changed to Gasworks park . The time will remain 9 o'clock. The following week, starting the 26th, practice will start at the Museum of History and Industry. Be there or be slow.

Boys XC Meeting

There will be a boys XC meeting at 3:00 in the Commons at RHS on Thursday June 10th to discuss summer workouts.

XC MOB Potluck Celebration

Bi-District Meet in Kelso

The Roosevelt XC MOB sent two team members to the bi-district meet in Kelso, seniors Ivan Ivashenko and Matt Gross. Both put in a great effort at this race and all season. Ivan finished 17th and Matt 35 out of a field of 88 top runners. This ends the XC MOB season as only the top 15 move onto state.

KingCo Championship

Congratulations to Ivan and Matt for moving on as individuals to the district championships in Kelso next Saturday. Ivan Ivashenko placed 15 with a time of 16:16.65. Matthew Gross placed 27th with a time of 16:39.97. Unfortunately our varsity boys team did not qualify to move on. Many gains have been made at all levels in our team and the commitment and dedication of the athletes have inspired us all. Good luck to Ivan and Matt at the next level, we are sure you will do the XC MOB proud!
