Last Saturdays Invitational at Lake Sammamish was a big success with many boys posting personal best times and significant improvement over last years times. Of note was Matt Gross coming in 20th overall in the 1-2 flight and first place for Roosevelt with a personal best of 16:39. Hart Horner also had a PR with 17:29 coming in 10th in the 5-6 flight, 3rd best time for the XC MOB. The team placed 8th out of 36 teams attending.
This week is a bye week with no meets. More info to come for next week and reminder to RSVP for the parent dinner!

XC Parent dinner-Meet the Coaches -Fundraiser
The XC team parents have planned a XC parent dinner on Friday Oct 16th at 6:30 @ the Gross's home (7028 17th ave NE). This is a chance to meet other parents and the coaches, ask questions and learn more about XC at RHS. A secondary goal is to raise funds for the teams depleted bank account without selling things or time consuming fundraisers with a pay what you can donation box. We hope to have a good turn out and look forward to meeting the people that support the kids that make up our fabulous XC team!
Please RSVP to Rachael Gross at rgross6086@gmail.com or 525-6086

Andrew is Lone RHS State Qualifier
Andrew placed 16th at Saturday's District 2/4 Championships and will travel to Pasco with Coaches Collier and Lynch as a State Meet qualifier. Matt also ran well in the District meet but will have to wait until next year to qualify.
When the gun sounded to start the race, the rain came down in buckets potentially threatening the course surface. A dejected runner from Woodinville was seen walking back to the finish area wearing only one shoe . . . the other one was left somewhere on the course. Other runners were covered with mud and grass indicating the less-than-ideal conditions. No Seattle 4A team qualified for State this year and altogether only two Seattle 4A runners qualified. We look forward to next year when this trend will be reversed.
